Walgreens passport photo: $16.99 with the free digital copy

Walgreens is the only big chain that bundles a free digital copy with its passport photos, which changes the math if your application is online. A Walgreens passport photo costs $16.99 for two 2 x 2 inch prints, taken in store. Walgreens includes a free digital copy sent by email with the passport photo purchase, per its own passport photo page. If your application is online (a DS-160 visa upload or online passport renewal), the emailed digital copy is the part that matters, and you can check it against the official rules free before you upload it.

How it works at Walgreens

Go to the photo counter at any Walgreens with photo services; a staff member takes the photo in store.
You get two printed 2 x 2 photos, and Walgreens sends a free digital copy to your email with the purchase.
The digital copy makes Walgreens the more useful chain if you also need a file for a DS-160 upload or online renewal.

Leave with the file, not just the prints

Walgreens' own passport photo page says the purchase includes a free digital copy sent by email, and that detail is what makes the $16.99 defensible against CVS. In practice, some 2026 store guides describe the copy as provided on request rather than automatically, so say you want the emailed copy before paying and confirm it arrived before you leave the counter. And the counter does not measure the file against your form's published rule (the DS-160, for instance, requires a square JPEG between 600 and 1200 pixels), so run the emailed copy through the free checker before uploading it.

Do Walgreens passport photo coupons work?

Walgreens photo promo codes are common, but they generally apply to photo prints rather than the passport photo service; each promo's terms decide. The dependable saving at Walgreens is different: the free emailed digital copy, which CVS charges about $3.99 for and most counters do not offer at all.

Hours and walk-ins

Passport photos follow the photo counter's staffed hours, not the pharmacy's, and those differ store to store; a 24-hour Walgreens does not mean a 24-hour photo counter. It is a walk-in service, so no appointment is needed, but calling your store confirms the counter is staffed before you go.
